What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide belongs to a class of medications that mimics the GLP-1

hormone, also known as an incretin hormone. These hormones play a role in your appetite and digestion.

Incretins — hormones released by your digestive tract — are sent out by your body after you’ve eaten a meal. They help lower your blood sugar by triggering insulin release and blocking sugar production. They also slow down how quickly food leaves your stomach (this is called gastric emptying). The result of these actions causes you to feel full — lowering your appetite and causing you to lose weight. Medications like GLP-1 agonists are referred to as incretin mimetics since they “mimic” these effects.

When used in conjunction with diet and exercise, it can cause significant weight loss — and a reduced risk of cancer, diabetes and heart disease in people who are obese or overweight.

What is Sermorelin?

Sermorelin is a synthetic version of a naturally occurring substance found in the body. When injected into the body, it is responsible for stimulating the release of our human growth hormone to the pituitary gland– The pituitary gland is responsible for our production of growth hormones.

Injecting Sermorelin into the body increases our production of HGH, which results in an increase of energy and stamina, and is hugely responsible for the breakdown of fat and increase in muscle mass in our patients. Injecting Sermorelin aids weight loss by building strong muscles, boosting the immune system, restoring stamina, and improving strength and vitality.

How are medications used in weight loss?

Medications like Phentermine / Adipex can play a pivotal role in the success of our patients completing our weight loss programs.

We have tried and true formulas that bind to the opioid receptors of the brain to reduce our patient’s reward feedback system. When patient’s overeat, they will no longer get the rush of satisfaction normally associated with eating sugary, fatty food. This response will decrease patients’ incentive to eat caloric foods, so they could lose weight more easily.

Additionally, medications are an excellent tool for appetite control and energy! You can say goodbye to hunger pains and brain fog associated with fat loss with our science-backed mechanisms to curb appetite and increase focus and energy.

Increase Satiety (Feel Full Easier)

As a GLP-1, Semaglutide acts on the brain to help control your appetite. In doing so, it allows your body to not only feel like it’s fuller, faster, but also reduces cravings for things like sugars and processed carbohydrates. All of this reduces caloric intake and increases the quality of food your body craves.

Lose Weight

By suppressing your appetite, your body reduces caloric intake. Studies show that patients can lose between 13-17% of their body weight over a prolonged period.

Stable Blood Sugar Levels

Semaglutide, originally developed for diabetes under the brand name Ozempic, helps control your glucose levels– reducing the risk of diabetes. In turn, this allows your glucose to remain constant and not spike to increase storage of fat cells.

What is Semaglutide / GLP-1?

GLP-1 is a FDA-approved class of medication that mimics naturally produced hormones in the body. This unique hormone has been clinically proven to work as a long-term treatment for weight loss as it stimulates the appetite center in our brain to decrease appetite.

How does Semaglutide / GLP-1 help with weight loss?

Semaglutide acts as a catalyst for suppressing your appetite. There are receptors for the hormone we prescribe in the appetite center of the brain that is responsible for our appetite. Stimulating this receptor with GLP-1 hormones sets forth a cascade of brain chemicals that shuts off appetite and makes you feel full.

How much weight will I lose?

Actual weight loss is dependent on a number of factors but many patients lose around 5% of their initial body weight. Over 12 weeks, it can be as high as 10%. This equates to a weight loss of 10-20 pounds for a 200 pound person.

Everyone is different though, and our most successful patients demonstrate a commitment to diet and lifestyle changes.

Heavy weight loss is defined as 1-2 pounds per week. Extreme weight loss is not a medically desired effect.

What is the age range for treatment?

Patients seeking treatment for GLP-1 programs need to be at least 18 years of age and no older than 75.
