Chiropractic Care Relieves Pain, Reduces Risk for Future Injury

Our chiropractic team creates a customized treatment plan for each patient that integrates one or more of these specialized techniques for enhanced pain relief and injury rehabilitation:

  • Diversified/Palmer: The most commonly used adjustment technique, Diversified is characterized by a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust designed to restore correct alignment to the spine. Our goal with this technique is to relieve joint dysfunction while supporting proper spine alignment.
  • Thompson Drop: The Thompson Drop technique uses a specially designed table that is segmented to drop in correspondence with the portion of the spine that is being adjusted, be that the lumbar spine, thoracic spine or pelvic area. While our chiropractor will thrust at a high speed, only minimal force is necessary since the table will “drop” in response to the thrust. Patients typically lie fully clothed on that table facing downward. The corresponding gentle drop facilitates removal of the spinal subluxation, improving posture, reducing pain, and enhancing overall health.
  • Activator: This gentle, low-force approach to chiropractic adjustment is performed using a specialized hand-held instrument. Since the controlled thrust is highly precise, this adjustment technique is comfortable for patients of all ages and wellness needs. Like other adjustment techniques, the goal of the Activator method is to restore correct spinal alignment and aid the body in healing itself.
  • S.O.T. (Sacro-Occipital Technique): SOT is an adjustment technique that goes beyond simple spinal adjusting to correct misalignments in the pelvis, cranium and extremities. With SOT, our chiropractor evaluates how muscle tension in one part of the body is related to a misalignment in another. For example, muscle tension in the knee may indicate that the need for a pelvic alignment. Based on these different indicators, our chiropractor in Davenport, FL will design a custom treatment program for your pain relief needs.
  • Extremity adjusting: A natural complement to spinal adjustments, extremity adjustments focus on subluxations or joint misalignments in the extremities, including the hands, fingers, ankles, knees, feet and hips.
